Post Picnic

The first writers’ picnic was good, relaxing, everything I was hoping for. Thanks to all who turned out on such short notice. The air somehow seems a lot healthier when you all are around. There is something about coming together that is essential. The structure for writers might be all screwed up at IUSB, but I believe enough connections have been made to begin to form a community. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. We’ll try to plan a little ahead, say, more than 24 hours, for next time. I’m thinking the week of the June 11th or June 18th. Write me with your preferences and we’ll set the date. Potato Creek is on the schedule next. David knows all the trails, where to take naps...

it is simply fellowship...breaking of bread. They did it in the bible, its communion. It does something. Hadley was a handful even though she was quite well-behaved compared to what she is capable of. Hopefully with it being closer I can arrange something for next time...thanks for beng understanding. She had a good time. Her and Bonita were both out cold before got to Mishawaka.

Sorry it took so long to post this response, Talia. Sometimes I don't get the e-mails that let me know something has come through and I don't realize until I sign on. I don't know what the glitch is.

Hadley and Bonita were fine and fun, not handfuls at all. Of course, I've been so immersed in the kid/animal world for so long I'm not sure how to be without them. I enjoyed the communion all around.
