Picnic?

I can't remember exactly when, but it's been about a year since the writers first started meeting. We had a small little picnic and walk out at Baugo Creek. Chris and David and Talia (with Haldey and Bonita in tow) and me. It was a gorgeous day. We saw some baby raccoons climbing a tree and David showed us where any theoretical trout, if they ever frequented Baugo Creek, might be. Chris brought humus and crackers. Hadley and Bonita were a hoot. Talia hiked in her nice shoes. I showed everyone the train trestle and we walked underneath it.

Summer is on its way. It's time to do it again. The date is May 10th. Everything else is TBA. Send me suggestions, time, place, format....

Hi Charmi,

Well, I love the outdoors and this could be just the thing I need to motivate me so...I was thinking. As a member of the local Audubon Society, I'm able to request the key to the local bird sanctuary. I understand it's a nice wooded area and people are allowed to picnic there as long as they are with a member, and all that is brought in is taken back out. I'd be willing to look into it further if people are interested.

Chances are that if you are kepping it around St. Joe County, I will not be able to get over that way unti 2pm ish, as I have Parent-teacher conferences. (At a boarding school, the parents get tom come three times a year and Mother's Day weekend is one of those times.

I will do my very best to work against my 'extreme indoor enthusiast' ways and attend ;)

I'm thinking of bringing a football, maybe challenge Rachel to a tackle game. Bring it on!

Wait, what? Poetry workshopping and football don't mix? But we'll be outside!

So for June will plan something extremely cool indoors to satisfy the nature fearers. I'll take suggestions for that, too. Chicago, maybe, via the South Shore? Art museums? I'm open.

Oh yes. You're right--I don't own any tennis shoes. I've never been able to make them look cute with my skirts. Some gals can do it, but it's just not my style.

Picnic sounds cool, I hope I can make it.

Art Institute- I'm going May 3 to catch the Edward Hopper and Homer Winslow exhibit that ends May 10. Both these guys are American masters so I can't wait!

Now I'm going to have to go up to the Art Institue before the 10th!

I haven't been to the Art Institute in forever...sigh.

As far as the picnic...would love to go. I hope this new potential job doesn't get in the way of my group participation.
