Cygnus Olor


I noticed this guy/gal a few days ago at the park. He/she hangs out with a Canadian goose.

Thanks, Talia. I think it is perhaps a he that is guarding a nest. You can't see it in this picture, but there is a very large tangle of dead trees close by that he doesn't stray far from. Swans take about six weeks to hatch, so I'm going to keep watching.

Oh, you'd better! I'd love to see baby swanlings...whatever they're called, assuming he lets you photograph.
