The South Shore

I had to post one more pic. It never fails, we come home from the Keweenaw in August into the Indiana heat and humidity. I'm miserable. Why can't we really get the writers' thing moving in the right direction and meet on one of my favorite beaches, the one right here on the south shore? There's blueberries behind those trees, and the beach is always this busy. Those figures in the distance are my kids. Lake Superior was even relatively warm, say 50-ish. There are good skipping rocks, too, although I'm a very bad skipper and Muffy dog isn't smart enough to know the difference between a skipping rock and a fetching stick (we're a lot alike.) As long as she's swimming, she's good to go.

Yes. I thought of you, how lucky you are to come home to the steamy sauna. Humidity always makes the grass grow, too and it is way too humid to do anything that strenuous. I will have to be the lowly neighbor who doesn't mow her lawn.

No, no, you are not the lowly neighbor, you are the courageous one who doesn't need to fit into the mold. Just look at it that way. It's worked for me for years ;-)

There is definitely a lot of whining about living in the Keweenaw next August going on around our house. I told the kids if they can find jobs, we'll go. I can work anywhere.

Eric - Nice to see you. How is your writing coming along? If you want to be included in the writers' gatherings, send me an e-mail, or you can just check the blog for the dates and times.

I like the dog :)

She's a bed hog and she snores, but there's no better dog to take to the lakeshore. She's a secondhand dog. Her owner left her at the vet to be put to sleep because she had had a couple of seizures and wasn't a good breeder. The vet felt bad about euthanizing her and put it off for a few hours. Then I walked in... We've had her for many years now.

I've been writing a lot, and reading more, and I'm creating a new blog, right here on blogger! Things are well.

I'm glad things are going well. And yes, blogger seems to be the place to be!
