And on, and on, and on

Okay. I couldn't resist. I took the animal quiz, too. There does seem to be a theme.

You're a Rabbit!

Sure-footed and exceptional at hearing, you have a great number of
physical talents. While you do love carrots, you have an aversion to lettuce that
no one seems to really believe. Looney Tunes have been your favorite cartoons for
as long as you can remember. Though you'd never admit it, you've always wondered
what it would feel like to be thrown into a briar patch. You really like, er,
procreating, even more than most people.

Take the Animal Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.

Why does that rabbit have a pancake on its head? I can see you in a briar patch, and Train Language explains the rest.

You're a Scorpion!
You really enjoy weapons and like keeping as many of them at hand as possible, just in case. Most of these weapons are sharp, and you have a small collection of armor as well. You just can't be too careful these days. Maybe it's that you've always been small and feel threatened and this has prompted your elaborate collection to bloom. It's not too surprising that you've become a bit of a loner, even a hermit, with those tendencies. Or that your favorite actor is The Rock.

Scary how accurate this is.

You're a scorpion? Oh, my!! I will definitely try and remember not to sneak up on you. You haven't been hiding in people's shoes, have you?

To paraphrase Bill Clinton, I did not put that pancake on that rabbit's head. Define pancake.

How did you like your first day of class?

Charmi said...

Technically, my second day of class, since I threw away the first day, but...

The new schedule is much better. There were living people in Scanlan's class, much as I suspected. I sat in on the French class I've already taken (in order to refresh myself) and there were living people there, too. Russian History is going to be weird, but okay. The prof has a heavy accent, can't spell anything, but will be showing movies every other day. So... I'm not sure if the people in that class are living or not, but since it's at the end of the day it will work out. Best of all, however, I got to catch up with lots of people who I haven't seen all summer.

Et toi? How did things go?

I think I
ve had that professor. Does his name start with a D? And is he sort of short? My very first day of college, my first college class ever back in August of 1999 when I was just a wee-18 year old, I was taking some sort of history class and that guy scared the heck out of me. I couldn't understand anything he said nor could I read anything he wrote on the board and he made us make nametags so he could call on us. 1/3 of our grade was going to be a paper, the topic of which had to be approved by him, and he wouldn't approve of any of the topics I offered.

I only lasted 5 weeks. 3 years later I was much better prepared for such a catastrophe. I never took one of his classes since.

Is your Scanlon class 20th Century English Lit? I enjoyed that class, much more than I thought I would.

Yes, he's a Dimtry someone. But the only grades are the midterm and final. I'm struck the same way that you are with these lower level classes at IUSB. One way or another, they are not (and were not when I started) designed to give anyone the briefest hope of continuing on. Across the board they are awful! But he doesn't scare me. I'm too old for that.

So apparently I'm a Mongoose. Why would they ask the question "Do you like to get down on all fours" to a person like me? You know I'm answering yes even if I don't.

Charmi, I too was happy to find living people in those two classes. I also found them in my Shakespeare class (not surprising), and I was actually surprised by the level of discussion in my Intro. to Philosophy class.

Charmi said...

Yes, anything that starts out with do you like to get down on all fours is going to lead in a certain direction. A mongoose? Did you figure out how to put it on your blog? You cut and paste that code into a post. There's an HTML tab at the top right of the compose box.

I should have taken philosophy. That would have been fun!

Ohhhhh. That is yummy cute. I love pancakes but I do not eat a rabbit, though…

I have eaten rabbit, but certainly not any rabbit I knew personally, and I have known a few. Pancakes, however, can be eaten no matter how well acquainted with them you are ;-)
