Osceola Fire at 3:00 A.M.

Our long time friends/neighbors' house burned pretty much to the ground last night.

We stood in the cold and the water.
Nothing to do but watch it burn.
Everyone made it out safely.

God... that's one of my worst fears. When I was in junior high my family was living in an apartment while our house was being built. There was a fire in the apartment below us, and if my Dad hadn't been getting ready for work at like 4:30 a.m. we might not have gotten out in time.

And of course, once your family is safely outside, THEN you start worrying about everything you own... :(

That's so sad, life is full of tragedy but I am glad they are safe. I am so sorry to read this...

Fire is one thing I fear in the house. We had one once many years ago, woken up with a friend saying, hey your house is on fire. Luckily, I was able to extinguish it before it spread. Bad memory...

Fire is pretty terrifying, one of those you-can't-control-this things. We're all still a bit in shock. And, too, aside from the danger, something no longer exists in this world.
