The Monarch

I found this Monarch dying at the parking lot at Lowes today. I know they have short life spans, but it just didn't seem right for something this gorgeous to die in that particular spot. So, I got him home without injury, a miracle, and promptly turned him over to Jojo, who is feeding him sugar water from her hands. He's sleeping now in the fuschias.

You have got to be kidding me.

I would never kid about a butterfly. We spent the afternoon doing Monarch research. There is great myth surrounding the Monarch, Danaus plexippus. Jojo is much better at mythology than I am. You can read all about them here: http://www.papalotzin.com/eng/monarch-butterfly-life.html

You know, I think there is a glitch with the word verification. This is the first time I haven't gotten three copies of your comment. I often have the same problem.

I'll check out your blog and eight things!
