Ow

My dentist was right. I did need a crown. It occurred to me that she was right over the weekend. I rubbed rum on my gums all day Sunday. We spent three quality hours together today. We'll spend some more quality time together in a few more weeks. When the rum wears off I'll be back. I hate it when she's right.

Oh no. What happened? Did a filling fall out? Why don't those fillings last a lifetime? I need to make an appointment--haven't had a cleaning since I was 4 months pregnant (and she's 2 now). The Diet Coke is taking over, I'm afraid.

I hope you feel better. I hope they gave you something bettr than rum.

No, the filling stayed in. My face just started throbbing. It had been bugging me a little all week, even a little when I got my teeth cleaned on Tuesday, but I didn't want to put that three-hour quality time in in the chair, so when she said, How are you feeling, I said, Wonderful. That was not, perhaps, a wise move. Anyway, they didn't give me anything for the pain. I have something temporary in until the real crown is manufactured someplace in California, but I should feel better in a couple of days. I also learned you shouldn't swish water around in your mouth when your lips are still numb. It's messy. Of course, while I'm in the dentist chair my court reporters are calling me with emergencies. The are slow for two weeks and they pick this day... So I'll be up all night, I think. Okay. I feel better now. I've had my rant. Poor me...

And yes, go get your teeth cleaned. I've heard that diet pop is bad, too.

Oh, yeah. My face is still throbbing, I asked for antibiotics, she's going to refer me to a specialist after she's done doing her stuff, in THREE WEEKS! I'm buying a bigger bottle of rum.
