The Day After Valentine's Day

With the amazing Rebecca Waring-Crane (right) at the Valentine's tea.
A Valentine’s Day miracle, even the big kids got a day off school. And you thought miracles were so passé. No, no. Do not discount miracles. Of course, miracles are not always what you expect or want them to be. I think even the Stones said something like, you can’t always get what you want… And so on. Perhaps I’m sounding a little preachy today. It comes out. Sorry. The hidden pastor still lives in me, no matter how often I ask her to leave. Occasionally she looks like the girl with the soup pot, but other times she’s just a pain in the ass telling people what to do. Anyway, I hope you loved a few people to the best of your ability on Valentine’s Day. That was still preachy, wasn’t it? I’m trying. I really am. Sometimes it just doesn’t seem that way.

uhh- so- what's happening in the pic? I might have to steal this one and post it on the library website. Just kidding!

I'm narrating and Rebecca is Alice in Wonderland, mistaken as Eve, (different garden) in a skit I wrote for this Valentine's tea. Rebecca is so funny. Library folk... Must be all the reading.

Charmi,

So what did you get cor Valentine's Day? And, its ok to be preachy every now and then. You do it in a very tactful way.

You're back? Or was the event cancelled because of the weather? What's the news?

Valentine's Day - dark chocolate and two dozen roses. My husband has never bought me flowers before. Chocolate, always, but roses? They are quite beautiful, unexpected... Usually when I want to have flowers I just buy my own, tulips and the like, sometimes my girlfriends and I buy each other flowers. He must be up to something ;-)

No, I'm still here...the hotel has free internet access. I'm not having yet, by the way. I should hve known...everyone is so young. Their poetry is nothing more than memories of high school. Not only that, but most of them seem to be very well-to-do. Taylor is a private and expensive school. Most of them are trying to get into even more expensive grad schools. But it's only been one day. We'll see what else happens.

2 dozen! Wow! What color?

Good. Glad the event is still on, sorry it's not "all that" yet. Maybe something will change.
