No Till Gardening

Jojo is holding this awesome snake that Tom disturbed while mowing today. Jojo is giving him a pep talk about finding someplace to lie low for the winter, preferably not in the middle of the yard. And to think, whenever my grandma saw one of these babies she'd start screaming, get the hoe! Then she'd get the hoe.

GET THE HOE. Snakes are the root of all evil. Well, all the evil cats of which cats are not the root. ;)

I can't believe JoJo is holding a snake! From your backyard! You people are crazy.

Yes, I am going to strongly encourage Jojo to take up a few new fears as soon as I can. This will certainly help her slide into regular society, make dating easier... ;-) I'm not sure what it will do to help her obtain that degree in wildlife management and ecology that she wants, though.

Ok, my comment makes no sense...I meant "all the evil of which cats are not the root." That extra cats was placed there by the cats themselves; they are trying to make me sound stupid so nobody listens. It's a conspiracy, I'm telling you.

Yes. Obviously.

Don't forget about the Bucket Wednesday night. I won't be in class tomorrow. See you then.

Is that a corn snake? Beautiful coloring. I've only ever found the occassional hognose.

I'm going to say I'm pretty certain that if we're meeting at the Bucket this Wednesday, I won't be able to make it. My work schedule ratched up about 9 points last week. But, if I can afford to leave early enough, I'll swing by and look for you all.

Oh, and I haven't read through the poetry book you lent me yet, but I will.

Wildlife and ecology? Good for her! I guess in that case, she might as well...

How could I forget? I'll need to blow off steam after therapy. ;)

I'll touch anything, even spiders, but not snakes. Something totally freaks me out about them.

I'm not sure what variety our backyard friend is, but some sort of garter snake is my guess.

It's funny the things we're afraid of. Jojo saved a chipmunk from our cats on Monday and guess what? The feisty little guy bit her. Mammals! Thankfully she's up to date on her shots.
