The weekend killed the winter and birthed spring. Everyone wanted to feel it. Tom & Spencer went mountain biking over at Rum Village, turned a corner and saw everything: a couple naked on a blanket, the blanket rising into the air to cover the scene. At home we boiled ten gallons of sap down into one quart of maple syrup. It never hurts to experiment, play around with the old new things.

Rum Village, heh heh heh.
Normally I would say live and let live, but kids hang out at that park.
Yes. Spring is here. Nature in all her glory... Outside naked sounds good, but not anywhere that I would have a chance of being seen. Before satellite pics you could lay out in perfect harmony in your own backyard. Now, however...
I remember one time at the dunes with the kids, a couple really going at it on a blanket, and Jojo, about four, walking by just staring and staring.
Ahhh, the excitement of getting caught is probably nothing like actually getting caught.
And about the sap, I will tell Brad it took that much for that little. He has this new idea he's going to harvest sap from our TWO or THREE trees for syrup. I'm not seeing him boil it down, it would be me when I would rather go to the festival.
Okay. The sap. We just tapped three trees. Unfortunately, we were in Arizona when the weather warmed up initially and the sap started to rise, so we missed a couple of days of the sap run. As soon as we got home we tapped the trees. By the end of the week we noticed the Amish buckets were down and the sap was slowing down, so we pulled the plug.
About the boiling down, I think it could be a fun, communal thing. The Amish do it outside (weren't we just talking about that?) Anyway, we did it inside, but next year have plans for outside. The house was dripping with all the boiling down.
Wow, you got ten gallons from three trees? Okay, I'll let him know. Unfortunately our neighbors aren't that communal. I miss living in a neighborhood. I love neighbors!
Yeah, and this really wasn't a good year. Tell Brad to google all the info.
See, the way I see it, you could combine your friends/party nature with the maple syrup thing. Invite folks over on the sugaring day. On the other hand, maybe I should do that next year and invite you all over... We have about ten or so maple trees. Of course, I could invite people over before next spring, but that would be so sudden, so social. I don't know ;-)
