In Memoriam - Muffy Dog

We said good-bye to our beloved lab Muffy yesterday.
She was a great dog who loved swimming in Lake Superior.

Sometime next summer we'll scatter her ashes on the lake shore.

Oh geez, sorry to read this. Our pets are like another kid, a member of the family. She looks like a great dog. :(

Thanks, R Jay.

She was well loved, both by us and by our friends and even by our cats. It was a pleasure knowing her. She was a happy accident, someone had brought her into our vet to be put to sleep when she was three. I guess she wasn't a good breeder. Our vet couldn't bring herself to do it, and so she became ours for nine years.

i'm so sorry, i feel your pain as I am still not over our Milo who died over four years ago.

Thanks, Jennifer. She's going to be fondly remembered.

I'm going to look at Pet Refuge tomorrow night. They have an eight-month-old Weimaraner that I'd like to see and a couple of other dogs, too. Our six-year-old male dog is really lonely.

Okay, after owning a weim for four years now, I have to warn you. I have met many weims and found that we have the calmest one, and it is actually out of character. Had I met the other's I never would have considered adopting one myself. Weim's are great dogs, but clearly for people who have lots of time and energy to devote solely to them. HIGH ENERGY, HIGH ENERGY, HIGH ENERGY! And don't get me wrong, Brad and I are very active, outdoor people. We have just enough energy ourselves to entertain him so he's only slightly destructive and anxious. And like I said before, we discovered we JUST HAPPEN to have a "calm" weim. Oh, and did I mention he grew to 96lbs when it was projected that he only would be 60 lbs?

Hmm. Maybe I should reconsider & look at the other available dogs.

I'm also concerned about our cats. I've heard mixed reviews about their ability to adapt.

Thanks, Jennifer!
